And it’s truly one of our favorite holidays here at The Hiland Home. The changing leaves. The crisp, cool air. The football parties…and the pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by enjoying a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Why not save a little money this fall by making your own latte at home instead of spending your hard-earned cash at a coffee shop!
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Makes 2 servings.
- 2 cups Hiland Dairy Milk
- 3 tablespoons canned pumpkin
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus extra for garnish
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup hot brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup Hiland Dairy Heavy Whipping Cream, whipped until firm peaks form
In a small saucepan, combine milk, canned pumpkin and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring regularly, until steaming. Remove from the heat. Add pumpkin pie spice and vanilla, stir well. Transfer liquid to a blender. Cover and process for 15 seconds or until foamy. Pour evenly into two mugs. Add half of hot coffee to each mug. Garnish with whipped cream and dash of pumpkin pie spice.
